The ‘ICT Computer and Mobile Mela’, the country’s largest computer and mobile fair, being held in the capital’s Jamuna Future Park has got a momentum as sales have peaked in last moment of the fair.
During visit to the fair on Thursday, it was seen that huge number of professionals and young people including students of different schools, colleges and universities crowded the stalls to choose products. Sales of 3-G technology incorporated mobile handset, Walpad, laptop, sound system, digital camera, tab, cc camera, modem and router are on the top lists.
On the occasion of the fair, many companies and organisations including some global brands are offering special discounts, gift items, and other facilities to draw attraction of customers.
During the visit, it was seen that Walton pavilion was witnessing huge number of visitors as it has brought many ultra modern technology incorporated products side-by-side from 2 to 15 percent discounts on its mobile sets. On the occasion of the fair, Walton has brought 35 models of mobile sets, four models of PCs, and various models of LED monitors and televisions.
Talking to the correspondent, Habibur Rahman Tuhin, an officer of Walton pavilion, said: “Walton brand smart-phones have created huge enthusiasm among the visitors as these are being sold at affordable prices”.
Md. Sirajul Islam, in-charge of Walton pavilion, said: “From the beginning of the fair huge number of customers is visiting the Walton pavilion everyday to see and buy its smart-phones, and stock of some models has already finished”.
“Walton has brought some new models of handsets, besides its existing models. It is also exhibiting an upcoming model ‘Z-X’ and taking orders for the products”, he said.
Sales of some Walton brand handsets including Primo RX, Primo Walpad HW, Primo ZF, Primo D-4, Primo GH, Primo GF and Primo Walpad are on the top lists. Stock of Ex-2 Mini and Walpad-8 has already finished due to huge sales.
Meeting the domestic demand, Walton brand handsets are being exported to eight countries of the world as the sets have the latest unique features and easy operational systems. After huge success in handset marketing, Walton has brought Tabloid PC in the market, he mentioned.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith formally inaugurated the country’s largest computer and mobile fair at Level 4 of Jamuna Future Park on February 27. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Salma Islam MP and Executive Director of Walton Plaza Development Iva Rezwana were also present at the inaugural function.
The 10-day fair which will continue till March 8 remains open from 10am to 10pm for the visitors everyday. Entry fee for the visitors is fixed at Tk 20 each, but students showing their ID cards will have free access to the fair.
