The products of the leading Bangladeshi brand Walton have huge opportunities in the Nepali market as the quality and standard of these products are excellent and they are affordable in prices too. They said that Walton, which entered into the Nepali market in 2014, would secure strong position in the Himalayan country.
A team of National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ) of Nepal expressed such remarks after visiting Walton factory at Chandra in Gazipur on Monday (May 22). They were overwhelmed by visiting the giant industry and production process of Walton, powered by the state-of-the-art technology.
Some 10 photojournalists of different media of Nepal led by Tej Bahadur Basnet, Treasurer of NFPJ, came to the Walton Hi-Tech Industries premises in the morning. Uday Hakim, Senior Operative Director of Walton Group, welcomed them after their arrival.
Executive Directors of Walton Group Md. Sirajul Islam and Alamgir Alam Sarker, Operative Directors Engineer Golam Murshed and Md. Yousuf Ali, Deputy Operative Director Sohel Rana and Media Adviser Enayet Ferdous were among others present on the occasion.
President to Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association (BPJA) AKM Mohsin, General Secretary Golam Mustafa, and Executive Working Committee member Quazi Rownaq Hossain along with other leaders and members of the association also were with the Nepali photojournalist delegation.
Tej Bahadur Basnet, team leader of the Nepali photojournalists, said, we saw Walton products in Nepal but we had no idea that they are manufactured here in Bangladesh. We have learnt many things after visiting the Walton factory and are overwhelmed that they are manufacturing high-quality, world-class products here.
Ram Sarrat, photojournalist of The Himalayan Times, said, I used Walton products in Nepal which are high in standard and quality and affordable in prices too.
However, we would not able to know that Walton has so vast factory with the state-of-the-art technology and machineries if we have not come here.
I saw many refrigerator-manufacturing companies import compressors from China, but Walton produces world standard compressors at their own factory. I am amazed by witnessing the production process, latest technology and machineries used in production, and the well-arranged work environment here, he added.
BPJA president AKM Mohsin said, Walton is manufacturing high-quality products in the country and exporting them in other countries after meeting the local demand. Not only me but also the entire nation is proud for Walton.
BPJA Executive Working Committee member Quazi Rownaq Hossain said, I have visited many factories in many different countries and saw that they do not produce every parts of their own. However, after visiting here, I have seen that Walton produces each and every parts at their own factory. They have composite refrigerator production plant here where all kinds of parts, compressors and necessary chemicals are manufactured. It was beyond my imagination. I am surprised. Their products are excellent in quality and standard. I am sure they will fly high and make Bangladesh proud by securing a strong market place in the world.
Expressing his reaction over the visit, BPJA General Secretary Golam Mustafa said he is astonished to see that Walton is manufacturing a wide range of consumer electronic products including refrigerators at their own world-class factory using utmost technology.
Prior to the visit to different production units, the Nepali photojournalists enjoyed a corporate documentary on Walton. They then visited the well-decorated product display centre of Walton.
Later, they visited various production units of Walton Hi-Tech and Micro-Tech Industries Ltd. including refrigerator, compressors, LED televisions, home appliances etc.
